“In this keynote speech, I will share my explorations into the esoteric and spiritual parallels between Haudenosaunee wisdom and Anthroposophy. All knowledge traces back to an origin, and understanding how far that knowledge reaches and how it benefits our human journey is of profound significance. Spiritual traditions across cultures strive toward a common goal: the realization of ultimate truth.

Core to this exploration is the cosmology that informs our practices, lifeways, and ceremonies, emphasizing that physical existence represents just one phase of our learning journey.

Skaronhyase'ko:wa was founded to preserve these esoteric teachings, with the intention of imparting this wisdom to our children. By doing so, we aim to shift the trajectory of our people toward a state of healing and thriving by way of self-determination and guided by ancient wisdoms. Recognizing the spiritual foundation of Waldorf education has provided a pathway to an educational approach that authentically reflects our identity as a people.”

Wahsonti:io (Deneen Hill) is an educator, Mohawk language speaker, and cultural advocate dedicated to the integration of Haudenosaunee culture and Waldorf pedagogy. A proud member of the Six Nations of the Grand River Territory, she holds a Bachelor of Arts in Ogwehoweh Languages (specializing in Kanyen'kéha/Mohawk) from Six Nations Polytechnic, alongside credentials in second-language and culture teaching. Wahsonti:io recognizes profound parallels between Waldorf principles and Indigenous worldviews, particularly through the sacred, central role of oral storytelling. She is a cultural speaker and guide for regional educational workshops, collaborating on national initiatives with organizations such as the Waldorf Early Childhood Association of North America (WECAN) to foster inclusive, culturally grounded frameworks in early childhood education.
